Rookie Kizer to start at QB for Browns

BEREA — DeShone Kizer will be next through the Browns’ quarterback turnstile.
He doesn’t want it to spin again anytime soon.
The rocket-armed rookie QB from Notre Dame was named Cleveland’s starter for Saturday night’s third exhibition game in Tampa Bay, and barring an unforeseen flop or injury — remember, these are the Browns — Kizer will start the Sept. 10 season opener against Pittsburgh.

DALLAS (TNS) — Donna Rosen and her 6-year-old son, Braxton, may never know why their pet dachshund went missing for 13 months or what happened to him while he was gone.
Those answers, if they ever come, will have to wait. Only one thing matters now.
“Bobo is back!” Braxton proclaimed Monday as he watched his mother cradle the chestnut-colored dog in a park near their home. “Hi Bobo. We missed you for a long time.”

AAA reminds drivers to watch for kids

LIMA — For many area schools, class is back in session, meaning that children walking to school or entering and exiting school buses will once again be a common sight on streets and roadways.
With that in mind, AAA, along with Lima schools, the Lima Police Department and Mayor David Berger, came together Wednesday to kick off AAA’s 72nd annual “School’s Open — Drive Carefully” campaign, reminding motorists to take extra precautions when driving to avoid any potential tragedies during the school year.

Navy dismisses 7th Fleet commander after warship accidents

TOKYO (AP) — The U.S. Navy dismissed the commander of the Asia-based 7th Fleet on Wednesday after a series of warship accidents raised questions about its operations in the Pacific.
A two-sentence statement said Adm. Scott Swift, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, had relieved Vice Adm. Joseph Aucoin “due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.”
The move follows four Navy accidents in the Pacific since late January, including two collisions that left sailors dead and missing.
