LIMA — For many area schools, class is back in session, meaning that children walking to school or entering and exiting school buses will once again be a common sight on streets and roadways. With that in mind, AAA, along with Lima schools, the Lima Police Department and Mayor David Berger, came together Wednesday to kick off AAA’s 72nd annual “School’s Open — Drive Carefully” campaign, reminding motorists to take extra precautions when driving to avoid any potential tragedies during the school year. “Unfortunately in Ohio, pedestrian fatalities are on the rise,” according to AAA Ohio spokeswoman Kimberly Schwind.
