Police investigate killing of Stamford man

A resident of the apartment where Comunale was last seen was taken into police custody Monday on an unrelated charge, but the New York Police Department would not identify the person or discuss his charge on Thursday morning.

Citing accounts from neighbors and anonymous police sources, the New York Times reported that the person in custody was James Rackover, the son of prominent jeweler Jeffrey Rackover.

STAMFORD — A second city man has been charged for reporting a bogus robbery in 2014, police said.

Karlac told police the men stole his Fossil watch along with his wallet containing $270 in cash and a credit card.

Hodza has already pleaded guilty to making a false report and was given a suspended jail sentence in June 2015 with two years probation.

 

Husband of Stamford homicide victim remains at large

Hit-and-run driver charged with drunk driving in Stamford

STAMFORD-A friend of a man struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning helped police stop the car by jumping onto the hood of the fleeing vehicle.

Sgt. Jennifer Lynch said at 1:52 a.m. police were called to Spring and Bedford streets for a man who had just been struck by a motorist who refused to pull over.

Stamford man arrested for running from police

STAMFORD-For no apparent reason, police had to draw down on a Stamford man Thursday night who ran from a traffic stop and would not get back into his car after ending up on a dead-end street.

Beginning to think he was about to rob them, the Mi Terruno restaurant employees decided to call police.

When a police officer arrived, he spotted a silver Hyundai that police were told the man was driving in, pull out of the lot and head east on East Main Street.

 

Stamford man charged with sex assault on bus

Stephen Jiminez, of Depinedo Avenue, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace.

The incident occurred on a CT Transit bus as it was pulling up to a stop on West Avenue at Nobile Street, according to a police report of the arrest.
