City budgets for extra mosquito spraying in Stamford

Skipped court date gets Norwalk man busted with heroin in Stamford

STAMFORD-A Norwalk man wanted for skipping a summer court date for a driving infraction was found in Stamford Wednesday and arrested for peddling heroin stamped with the name of a popular licorice candy.

Police soon spotted Michelotti, 26, in the area at about 9 p.m. Wednesday and when he was being removed from his car, the officers spotted the corner of a clear plastic bag hanging out from under the driver’s car mat.

 

Public asked to help ID smash ‘n grab burglar in Stamford

STAMFORD-City police have released surveillance video and are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who broke into five stores on High Ridge Road over one night last week. The near two minute video shows a white male with short hair in his mid-20s wearing a red scarf around his face, a white and black plaid hooded jacket, blue jeans, sneakers and a baseball cap.

 

Sister dissed gets Stamford men jailed on assault charges

STAMFORD-Two men aiming to settle a score against a manager of a restaurant where a sister of one of the men had recently quit, were charged with assault on Tuesday night.

The injured man told police that did not threaten or harass the waitress in any way, but declined to discuss the incident further because he was worried about retribution by the pair.

 

Bomb scare at police headquarters in Stamford

STAMFORD-After striking something with her car while driving downtown early Wednesday morning, a Norwalk woman caused a scare at police headquarters by doing what public safety officials everywhere warn against.

Figuring the object was a pipe bomb, the woman went over to a local coffee shop, picked up a bag and put the pipe with wires hanging out of it in the bag and drove it straight to police headquarters.

 

Teens charged as adults in Stamford robbery, shooting

STAMFORD — Two juveniles accused of robbing and shooting a 16-year-old during an apparent drug deal on the city’s East Side have been charged as adults, police said.

The boys, whose names are not being released because of their age, have each been charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said three boys drove to Stamford from New Britain Sunday afternoon looking to either sell or buy marijuana.

 

Stamford man accused of selling prescription pills to undercover cop

With the help of Darien police, who lent an officer to go undercover, Conklin said John Jones, 31, sold the officer prescription medications on two occasions.

Jones was arraigned on multiple charges of sales of illegal drugs and sales of a controlled substance.
