Washington house for sale; ravaged by break-ins, parties

Police arrest Stamford man who threatened Sandy Hook School

Police arrested Pierre Beauvil, 28, of Euclid Avenue in Stamford, at about 2 p.m. Friday and charged him with breach of peace, harassment in the second degree and first-degree threatening after an exhaustive investigation, police said.

According to a statement from Newtown police, school resource officer William Chapman tracked the cell phone number the call was made from to a national mobile phone company and eventually to a company in Canada.

 

Man attempts to abduct Bethel student

BETHEL — Police are warning parents to keep a close eye on their children this week after a man tried to abduct a 12 year old child walking home from the bus stop Thursday.

According to police, the child was walking home from the bus stop on Woodlawn Drive en the child, whose sex was not identified by police, was approached by a man in a large black sedan.

 

Sex assault charges abruptly dropped after man faced 100 years in prison

DANBURY — A local man facing more than 100 years in prison on sexual assault charges cried tears of relief in Superior Court Thursday when the charges against him were dismissed.

Jose Alonso has been living for more than 18 months under the cloud of the charges since his arrest in February 2015 on more than a dozen counts of sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor - accused of contact with a young girl from 2007 when the girl was about 7 years old.

Woman gets stitches after being pushed at a Danbury restaurant

Antonio Davon Rivera, 30, of Waterbury, was flirting with a woman at El Quetzel Cafe, but when she stepped away from his attempted kiss, he shoved her so hard that she pushed open the restaurant’s door and hit her head on the sidewalk. Rivera, who was wearing a neon green shirt, fled the scene, but officers were able to locate him shortly after the incident around 1 a.m., Sturdevant said.

 

Four arrested following fight over noise at Danbury party

Four men were arrested following a fight over noise levels at a house party Friday night in Danbury.

Rory Roberts, 18, and Shaborn Venner, 19, both of Danbury, were arrested on Avalon Valley Drive with two juveniles, after police say they assaulted the downstairs tenants when confronted about the party being too loud.

 

Man calls in threats to Roxbury schools, gets wrong Roxbury schools

ROXBURY — Police in Ohio say that a Connecticut man mistakenly threatened the Roxbury Elementary School in Salon, Ohio, when he meant to threaten schools in Roxbury, Connectict, according to Fox 8 in Cleveland. According to Fox 8, it’s believed that the man was looking for the phone number to schools in Roxbury, so he could direct threats their way, but called Roxbury Elementary School in Salon, Ohio instead.

 

Motorcycle collides with garbage truck in Danbury

Police said that Eric Ganser, 45 of Fairfield, was heading west on White Street on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was hit by a green Winter Brothers Waste Systems truck shortly before 9 a.m. The accident happened outside the exit for the transfer station that is operated by Winter Brothers.

Fire Department officials said Ganser had significant leg injuries.

 

Police raid drug house - again

Cardwell was originally arrested in July when police searched the home after a several month long investigation that began when concerned citizens notified police about drug activity at the home, which is less than a half mile from City Hall in the city’s center.

[...] authorities said Cardwell refused to open the door for investigators, who, after breaking down the door, found the suspect attempting to flush a large amount of heroin down the toilet.

Because of the quantity, the toilet clogged and police said they were able to recover the drugs.

 

Danbury man charged with unemployment fraud

According to a statement released by the Chief State’s Attorney’s office said Jeffery Smith, 57, of Main Street, was taken into custody after an investigation conducted by the inspectors with the Unemployment Compensation Fraud unit and charged with first-degree larceny and unemployment compensation fraud.

According to authorities, Smith under reported the wages that he was earning while working as a school climate specialist with the Derby school system from Sept. 2012 through June 2014.
