Danbury Man Charged With Unemployment Fraud

According to a statement released by the Chief State’s Attorney’s office said Jeffery Smith, 57, of Main Street, was taken into custody after an investigation conducted by the inspectors with the Unemployment Compensation Fraud unit and charged with first-degree larceny and unemployment compensation fraud. According to authorities, Smith under reported the wages that he was earning while working as a school climate specialist with the Derby school system from Sept.
