McDonald’s slay co-conspirator takes plea in Stamford

STAMFORD-The co-defendant of the 17-year-old boy who last week took a manslaughter plea for stabbing a man to death outside MacDonald’s two years ago, ended up taking his own deal during a brief hearing at the Stamford courthouse Friday morning.

Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Paul Ferencek explained that McLamb had cooperated with the investigation and because a murder charge against Marquest Hall was untenable, he decided to work out an agreement with McLamb’s public defender Howard Ehring.

Raid leads Stamford police to pot and stolen pink gun

STAMFORD-A police raid on North Stamford home netted more than four ounces of marijuana and a stolen pink handgun that was illegally in the possession of a convicted felon, police said.

Conklin said the raid came after several weeks of investigation where officers obtained enough evidence to get a search warrant signed by a judge.

Police arrested Marquette Wilson, 21, and charged him with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, criminal possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm.

Police: Social media posts spur Stamford attacks

STAMFORD — A 19-year-old city woman has been accused of two separate attacks that were apparently spurred by social media posts, police said.

Police said the first incident occurred following a Friday night football game in October.

Bragg was charged Wednesday with second-degree assault and held her in lieu of a $75,000 court appearance bond.

 

Teachers stolen phone tracked to teen’s back back in Stamford

STAMFORD-A Westhill High Student who filched a teacher’s cell phone was tracked down and the device recovered on the street in the South End Wednesday night by tracking the signal of the stolen phone.

The youth, whose name wasn’t released by police because of his age, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and was returned to the custody of his parents.

 

Stamford confessional marred by New Jersey transient

STAMFORD-A New Jersey transient was charged with criminal mischief after police say he defecated inside a downtown church confessional Wednesday afternoon.

After being charged with criminal mischief, burglary and disorderly conduct, Hurt was held in lieu of a $2,500 court appearance bond and will be arraigned on the charges Thursday.

Bethel man pleads guilty to charges in 2 OD deaths

On Dec. 11, 2016, after Bethel police and medical personnel found the 25-year old female dead , investigators found three empty heroin folds from the victim’s purse, and six empty heroin folds from the victim’s jacket pocket.

According to court documents, Mignani sold depressants, opioids and amphetamines in Bethel, and housed the 25-year-old, drug-dependent woman for months free of charge before she died in December.

 

Savings card cracks stolen credit card case in Stamford

On Monday, police charged Sistrunk, 28, of Southwood Drive, Stamford, with identity theft, falsely procuring a credit card, sixth-degree larceny and two counts of attempted sixth-degree larceny.

When he went to Walgreens where one of the cards was used, he found the electronic trail that led to Sistrunk’s donnybrook, the use of her own savings card when she tried to make the transaction, Scanlan said.

Man taken into custody by ICE in Danbury

Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly signed two memos in February calling for the hiring of 10,000 new ICE officers, more coordination with municipal law enforcement agencies, and say the the department “no longer will exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement.”

The memos undo policies established by President Barack Obama that made undocumented immigrants largely safe from deportation if they weren’t, for example, convicted criminals or recent border crossers.
