Man Taken Into Custody By Ice In Danbury

Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly signed two memos in February calling for the hiring of 10,000 new ICE officers, more coordination with municipal law enforcement agencies, and say the the department “no longer will exempt classes or categories of removable aliens from potential enforcement.” The memos undo policies established by President Barack Obama that made undocumented immigrants largely safe from deportation if they weren’t, for example, convicted criminals or recent border crossers.
