Sgt. Simon Blanc said Stamford police were contacted on Wednesday by State police asking them to get to the bottom of how the 14-year-old boy ended up returning to Litchfield, where he is incarcerated, with a bag full of snacks which also contained a 9 mm pistol on Tuesday.

According to the woman’s statement, she said her husband “forgot” that he left the weapon in the bag, which was then given to the teen for his return trip to Litchfield.

STAMFORD — Authorities are investigating whether a 9-year-old boy was hurt on a school bus after he returned home Tuesday with several red marks on his back.

Hall, who was 15 when the incident occurred, was charged as an adult with murder and faced up to 60 years in prison if convicted at trial.

In jail since his arrest days after the murder, Hall rejected a plea deal last summer for a 25-year prison sentence followed by 15 years of special parole.

STAMFORD — A 24-year-old city woman escaped injury Tuesday after a man lunged at her with a knife near several children at Scalzi Park, police said.

Grijalba, 33, of East Main Street, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon, attempt to commit second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.

Grijalba was held on $5,000 bond for those charges and another $5,000 for failure to appear in court, which stems from a 2016 criminal trespass charge.

STAMFORD — A city woman who evaded a crash Monday afternoon called police at night to report a fictitious hit-and-run in an apparent attempt to explain the damage to the car, authorities said.

Sgt. Simon Blanc said the woman did not stop, but the victim called police and gave them a description of the woman and her license plate number.

Blanc said police realized her story was flawed when they noticed the car she said was struck was also registered to the Noble Street home from the earlier crash.

Hall accepted a plea deal that reduced the murder charge he originally faced, which could have landed him in prison for up to 60 years.

Butler was brought Monday from the Bridgeport Correctional Center, where he’s being held on a combined $325,000 bond, and charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.

STAMFORD — An intoxicated driver was charged with nine different offenses after trying to resist an arrest following a traffic stop early Saturday morning, police said.

Jamar Jones, 31, of Bridgeport, is accused of pushing and shoving a Stamford police officer after a traffic stop about 2 a.m.

He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, assault on a police officer, interfering with an officer, first-degree threatening, reckless driving, failure to obey stop sign and other traffic violations.

No one appeared to be injured.
