Pd: Stamford Woman Evaded Crash, Made Up Fictitious One

STAMFORD — A city woman who evaded a crash Monday afternoon called police at night to report a fictitious hit-and-run in an apparent attempt to explain the damage to the car, authorities said. Sgt. Simon Blanc said the woman did not stop, but the victim called police and gave them a description of the woman and her license plate number. Blanc said police realized her story was flawed when they noticed the car she said was struck was also registered to the Noble Street home from the earlier crash.
