Woman Unhurt After Attempted Slashing At Stamford Park

STAMFORD — A 24-year-old city woman escaped injury Tuesday after a man lunged at her with a knife near several children at Scalzi Park, police said. Grijalba, 33, of East Main Street, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a dangerous weapon, attempt to commit second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. Grijalba was held on $5,000 bond for those charges and another $5,000 for failure to appear in court, which stems from a 2016 criminal trespass charge.
