Sterling Heights man ticketed in Rochester for alleged disorderly conduct, resisting officers

A Sterling Heights man was ticketed for alleged disorderly conduct and resisting officers after an incident in Rochester. According to Rochester police, the incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on June 23 in the 200 block of Main Street. An officer was advised that a man was intoxicated and asking people to purchase alcohol for him.

 

Pontiac man arrested after allegedly holding knife to girlfriend's throat, struggling with deputies

A 47-year-old Pontiac man was arrested June 25 after allegedly holding a knife to his girlfriend's throat and then fleeing the scene.Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 20 block of Tacoma Court shortly after 7:30 p.m. for the alleged assault by the victim's live-in boyfriend, the sheriff's office said.

 

Man visits Novi home claiming to be roof repairman

Novi residents should be on the lookout for a man claiming he repairs roofs. On Friday, June 22, police were called to a home along Nilan Drive on the report of a suspicious circumstance. The female homeowner told police that around 8:45 p.m., an unknown male knocked on her door stating that her husband had contacted him for some roof repairs.

 

Trailer packed with $40K-plus in musical instruments stolen from Motor City Brass Band

The Motor City Brass Band is relying on plenty of borrowed equipment to keep the music flowing and their concert schedule on track after someone stole their trailer packed with percussion instruments.The theft happened sometime between June 11 and 16 at the Salvation Army facility at 16130 Northland Drive in Southfield, where the band rehearses.

 

Thousands lose power after storms move through

Northern Oakland County residents are dealing with massive power outages on Wednesday morning after storms moved through the region. According to the DTE Energy Outage Map, homes and businesses from Springfield and Holly to Ortonville and the Goodrich area are without electricity. Another outage has occurred in Waterford.

 

Radio allegedly stolen from vehicle in White Lake Township

A White Lake man reported a larceny from his vehicle. According to White Lake Township police, the incident was reported at about 11:30 a.m. on June 23 in the 5000 block of Ormond Road. The victim said an unknown person reportedly entered his car sometime from June 22 to June 23 and stole a radio from inside the car.

Chartwells Higher Education, food service partner for Oakland University, is looking to hire 150 employees this summer. The need for additional workers comes as the university puts the finishing touches on its newest student housing project, Hillcrest Hall.

An Oakland County judge was recently honored with the Pillar of Justice Award, given to experts in the field of law considered to be held in high esteem by their peers, and to recognize their exemplary community service.Judge Hala Jarbou of Oakland Circuit Court received the honor at the Chaldean American Bar Association's 25th Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Dinner, held June 13 at West Bloomfield's Shenandoah Country Club.
