Pricey Lamborghini crashes, driver arrest on suspicion of being drunk

Alcohol use and excessive speed are believed to be contributing factors after a Lamborghini crashed into a tree in Bloomfield Hills on July 7, injuring the driver and passenger.According to the Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department, witnesses saw the 2015 Huracan, valued at more than $200,000 travelling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit a tree in the center median of Woodward Ave.

 

Racist, sexual images spray painted in Independence Township neighborhood

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after someone spray painted racist and sexual images on cars, street signs and utility boxes in Independence Township.The vandalism occurred in the 5500 block of Chestnut Hills Drive and is believed to have happened sometime during the night on July 9.

Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak is ready to open its new Pediatric Emergency Center on Monday.The center covers 9,500 square feet and has 16 private rooms that are twice the size of rooms in the former area. M-15 to close in Ortonville for culvert replacement

The Michigan Department of Transportation will close M-15 in Ortonville to replace a culvert. The closure will take place beginning 8 p.m. on Friday, July 13 and will end at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18.MDOT is investing $476,000 to remove and replace an aging culvert at Duck Creek. Both northbound and southbound M-15 will be closing just north of South Street in Ortonville.

 

Kensington Metropark hosts Paddle to the Symphony

For more than 20 years, Kensington Metropark in Milford has been the home to Paddle to the Symphony. The event returns to the park and to Kent Lake on Saturday, July 14. Symphony-goers will meet on the other side of the lake at the shoreline of North Martindale Beach and paddle to the symphony beginning at 6 p.
