Stamford man committed to psych hospital for killing mother

STAMFORD —A three-judge panel on Wednesday committed Timothy Anderson to the state’s most secure hospital for the criminally insane for killing his mother after beating her with his fists in 2015. While the judges handed down their decision to have him locked down for 20 years at the Whiting Forensic Unit at Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, Anderson, 44, remained silent.

 

Former Norwalk principal accused of theft asks for diversionary program

The suspected larceny was reported to police in June 2016, just a few months after Reynolds, a popular school administrator with more than 20 years of education experience, left the district to become the new headmaster of Pear Tree Point School, a private elementary school in Darien.

A school clerical employee made a statement to police in which she said cash payments were placed into an envelope and kept in Reynolds’ office closet.

The employee told police that Reynolds would use cash collected for the fund to buy breakfast and lunch for himself and staff members.

 

Robbery leaves Fairgate Farm in need of equipment

Stamford man charged with snapping pics of teen in dressing room

When officers got there they were told that the teenaged girl was trying on some dresses when she saw a pair of mens shoes and a man’s shirt lying on the floor in a dressing room stall next to hers.

The man in the stall then joined a line to make a purchase and the attendant told the cashier to take her time because security was on its way to talk to the peeping suspect.

 

Cops: Stamford man videotaped girl in dressing room

STAMFORD - A Stamford man has been arrested for allegedly videotaping a female juvenile as she undressed in a fitting room in the Forever 21 store at the Stamford Town Center.

Teen facing 20-years in Stamford McDonald’s stab slay

Sugar Ray is next up at Alive@Five

STAMFORD — Sugar Ray, the pop-rock band with a string of ’90s hits including “Fly” and “Every Morning,” will perform this week at Alive@Five.

The band is headlining the Thursday evening concert at downtown’s Columbus Park.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15. Patrons must be at least 21.

The night before, The Guess Who will perform at Columbus Park at Wednesday Nite Live. Tickets are the same price.

Alive@Five will wrap up the season with Rachel Patton on July 27, Plain White T’s on Aug. 3 and Phillip Phillips on Aug. 10.

 

Stamford man charged in doughnut drive-thru disagreement

STAMFORD-A Glenbrook man was charged with causing a public disturbance after allegedly coming unglued at a woman in the Donut Delight drive-through line.

A witness walked up to police and told them that Wiggins was the aggressor in the incident and he was screaming at the woman and using profanities.

 

More shots fired into Stamford home

STAMFORD-More shots were fired at into a home on Seaside Avenue that may be connected to a man being shot over the weekend, police say. The repeat gunplay has police wondering if the perpetrators shooting at the home are taking revenge for a man being shot on Spruce Street on Saturday night. Lt. Tom Barcello said that about an after a man was struck five times by bullets on Spruce Street Saturday night, shots were fired at the same Seaside Avenue home.

 

“Masseuse” robbed in downtown hotel in Stamford

Two men, Frank Chimblo, 44, and Kristopher Chimbolo, 28, were charged with second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, sixth-degree larceny, impersonation of a police officer and possession of narcotics.

The younger Chimblo has a rap sheet that goes back nearly a decade, where he has been arrested and convicted of conspiracy to commit robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon and assault.
