Conklin credited the boy’s recovery to the immediate treatment he received from the Chelsea Piers staff, followed by Stamford Hospital doctors stabilizing his seizures before the child was flown to New Haven late Thursday afternoon.
The boy was enrolled in a soccer camp that took a break Thursday at Chelsea Piers’ Splash Zone, a 6,000-square foot area containing three pools with slides and other children’s activities, when he slipped underwater unnoticed.
Police are still conducting interviews to determine if criminal negligence was a factor in the incident.
