STAMFORD-City police have arrested a New York woman and charged her with violating a judge’s protective order prohibiting her from contacting her former Stamford boyfriend 334 times over the past few months.

Lt. Tom Barcello said the man originally complained to police in May that his ex-girlfriend Kristina Marie Hogan, 32, of Summerville Place in Yonkers had contacted her about 150 times against a judge’s order.

During the police investigation of the allegation, it was determined she called and texted the man a total of 334 times after the judge told her not to, Barcello said.

STAMFORD-Residents can learn how to administer the opiate antidote Narcan at a training session at Government Center in Stamford on Thursday at noon.

The session is being held by Communities 4 Action and Silver Hill Hospital. Communities 4 Action promotes substance-abuse prevention and mental health services in the region.

The session will be attended by Mayor David Martin and Director of Public Safety Ted Jankowski in the Government Center lobby.

STAMFORD-A former Stratford man just released from jail in Massachusetts was extradited to Stamford where he will be arraigned today for allegedly posing as a utilities worker and walking into a city business where he stole credit cards from several employees, police said.

Edward Alexander, 52, is being charged with three counts of third-degree burglary, a dozen counts of identity theft, third-degree larceny and 21 counts of credit card theft.

Lt. Tom Barcello said that Alexander is a career criminal with other arrests and convictions on his record.

STAMFORD-A Norwalk man pleaded guilty to stabbing another man several times in front of a South Norwalk bar last October.

Mykell Mitchell, 25, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree assault Tuesday at the Stamford courthouse. As part of a plea agreement worked out with Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney James Bernardi, Mitchell will be sentenced to three and one-half years in jail when he returns to court on Nov. 27.

STAMFORD-A tree climber on Bell Street was injured Tuesday morning when he fell from a tree downtown, police said.

Lt. Diedrich Hohn said the 47-year-old Norwalk man fell about five feet from the tree on Bell Street at about 7:20 Tuesday morning, but landed directly on his face.

STAMFORD-Traffic is jammed up around Newfield Avenue near Sterling Farms following a late-night accident Monday.

Sgt. Chris Broems said a driver, since arrested on a driving under the influence charge, on lost control on Newfield Avenue just after 11 p.m. Monday and struck a power pole, snapping it off at the base. Broems said the accident left hanging wires in the area around Sterling Farms forcing a closure of the road. Traffic continues to back up in the area this morning.

STAMFORD-A woman who stabbed her son and then turned the knife on herself Sunday night has not yet been criminally charged in the incident.

Just after 9 p.m. Sunday, police were called to Meredith Lane on the report of a mother who stabbed her son in the stomach.

Capt. Tom Wuennemann said that the father transported the son to the hospital before medics and police arrived.

STAMFORD-A city man appearing in court on drug charges was taken into custody by Judicial Marshals Monday morning and charged with providing the heroin that contributed to the overdose death of a Stamford man in mid July.

With the opioid epidemic raging in the state, James Pipicelli, 65, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and possession of narcotics and is being held in lieu of a 100,000 court appearance bond.

STAMFORD-With his face caught on video after allegedly committing four smash and grabs late last Thursday night, police have arrested a city man and charged him with the burglaries.

Thomas Golderman, 46, was charged with four counts of third-degree burglary and as many counts of criminal mischief and three counts of sixth-degree larceny. He was held over the weekend on a $150,000 court appearance bond following his arrest hours after the crime on Friday.

Lt. Tom Barcello said the burglaries occurred Thursday night into Friday morning.

STAMFORD — Stamford Police arrested a man Saturday who they say tried to sexually assault a 6-year-old girl at a family party.

Police were called to a private home on the east side of the city around 8:30 p.m. Saturday after a family friend walking her dog saw a man with his pants down holding a girl against a car, according to a release. The family quickly intervened and detained the suspect, Pedro Catalan-Veliz, 54, of 86 Warren St., until officers arrived.

“Thankfully the minor child was not physically injured in this incident,” Lt. Michael A. Noto said in a release.
