Danville elementary students to perform with St. Louis Symphony Orchestra

The select group Garfield Elementary of third- and fourth-graders, under the direction of music teacher Joe Legg, have been learning about jazz through Link Up, Carnegie Hall's longest-running education program.

DANVILLE — When the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra welcomes guest musicians at a special concert series next week, some Garfield Elementary School students will be among them.

C-U Kiwanis Club recognizing 18 students as 'outstanding juniors'

Eighteen students from Champaign-Urbana's six high schools will be recognized as "outstanding juniors" during the Champaign-Urbana Kiwanis Club's annual high school recognition luncheon on Thursday in Champaign.
