Chicago coronavirus patient infected spouse; first person-to-person case in U.S.

CHICAGO – A second person has been diagnosed with the coronavirus in Chicago, health officials said Thursday, and it is the first U.S. case of the virus spreading person-to-person.

The second patient is the husband of a woman who caught the disease after traveling to Wuhan, China.

The latest case is the sixth in the U.S. The other five U.S. cases were travelers who developed the respiratory illness after returning to the U.S. from China. The latest patient had not been to China.

District 155 hasn't communicated with hackers, paid ransom following ransomware attack

Crystal Lake School District 155 has not communicated with the hackers or paid any ransom after its computers were infected with ransomware Friday, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

District spokeswoman Shannon Podzimek said in an email Wednesday that the district’s restoration efforts have been performed from secure backup systems that it maintains.

Fox River Grove Library District receives grant to make videos

The Fox River Grove Public Library District recently received a grant from the Reaching Across Illinois Libraries System, which will help it create two videos that they say will bring more visibility to the library.

The library district has one of four projects that were selected to receive the “My Library Is...” grants through Reaching Across Illinois Library System, known as RAILS.
