The 24-year-old man accused of killing a Mentor police officer appeared in Lake County Common Pleas Court for a pre-trial hearing Aug. 24. Brian Anthony, who is charged with second-degree aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Patrolman Mathew Mazany, is scheduled to return to court on Sept.

Lupus support group sets September meeting in Willoughby

The Lupus Foundation of America's Greater Ohio Chapter announced it will be holding its monthly Willoughby Support Group on Sept. 4 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The support group will take place at the Willoughby Library, 30 Public Square.This support group is an open, small-group environment which encourages discussion among lupus patients and their families, according to a news release.

 

Lake Geauga Computer Association offers new virtual library to area school districts

The Lake Geauga Computer Association is expanding learning opportunities for students through its new shared digital library. This initiative will allow schools to build a consortium to purchase electronic and audiobooks and share them as a group, said Jim Martin, who is the media and classroom technology support liaison for the association.
