Friends of WomenSafe plan Wine Tasting

Friends of WomenSafe is partnering with Adams Reserve Cheddar again to host the ninth annual Wine Tasting event from 6 to 9 p.m., Sept. 13, at the Sharon James Cellars, 11303 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. There will be samples of a variety of domestic wines and craft beers, hearty appetizers, fine cheeses of Adams Reserve Cheddar, and a chocolate fountain.

 

Nancy Brown appointed to Lake County ADAHMS Board

Nancy Brown is the newest member of the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board. Brown was appointed by the Lake County commissioners, and was sworn in during the board's regular Aug. 20 meeting, according to a news release.Brown is president of Ladies and Gentlemen Salon and Spa with locations in Mentor and Lyndhurst.

Lake County Commissioner Daniel P. Troy is serving on a special committee for the acquisition and funding of new voting equipment in the state. In much of Ohio, voting equipment has not been replaced since federal funds were received following the 2000 presidential election.
