2018 property values released by Lake County Auditor's Office

Lake County Auditor Edward H. Zupancic announced that new 2018 reappraisal property value notices should start arriving in mailboxes Aug. 29. According to a news release, the new values will not be available on the Internet, as they are considered tentative until certified by the Ohio Department of Taxation for tax rate calculation later in the year.

Perry Township residents soon will have another chance to voice their opinions in a public forum about proposed regulations for owning chickens in certain subdivisions in the community.Township trustees will hold a public hearing at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 11 to hear comments on a list of prospective zoning text amendments dealing with chicken ownership.

 

Vrooman Road bridge work to begin in September

The Ohio Department of Transportation on Aug. 28 announced the impending construction of the long-awaited new Vrooman Road bridge.Building of the foundations and piers is expected to begin in mid-September, according to an ODOT press release.In preparation for construction, crews have started surveying work, which will continue through the end of August.
