STAMFORD — The wheelchair bandit who rolled into a mall jewelry store in August 2014 and sprinted out with a $37,000 Rolex watch in his hands is scheduled to be sentenced to six years in jail at the Stamford courthouse today.

Once he had a Rolex Daytona in his hand, he jumped out of the wheelchair and maced the employee and a security guard, who he knocked to the ground while running out the store, police said.

STAMFORD-An after hours thief pried his way into a Redbox movie rental container in Glenbrook sometime Tuesday morning, police said.

Sgt. Simon Blanc said police were dispatched to CVS at 229 Hope Street on a vandalism call at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The responding officer noticed pry marks on the machine with movies and DVDs strewn all over the ground.

Blanc said it was unclear how many DVDs or videos games were missing.

Police Sgt. Simon Blanc said the woman, who was accompanied by a man, went on to buy other items and pay for them with fraudulent credit cards.

Blanc said she was taken to the police department, where officers learned she had four fraudulent credit cards and a fake Illinois driver’s license.

STAMFORD-An alleged burglar who was apprehended after being chased away by an alert building security guard over the weekend, may be responsible for several other office break-ins, police say.
