Figuring the object was a pipe bomb, the woman went over to a local coffee shop, picked up a bag and put the pipe with wires hanging out of it in the bag and drove it straight to police headquarters.

STAMFORD — Two juveniles accused of robbing and shooting a 16-year-old during an apparent drug deal on the city’s East Side have been charged as adults, police said.

The boys, whose names are not being released because of their age, have each been charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said three boys drove to Stamford from New Britain Sunday afternoon looking to either sell or buy marijuana.

With the help of Darien police, who lent an officer to go undercover, Conklin said John Jones, 31, sold the officer prescription medications on two occasions.

Jones was arraigned on multiple charges of sales of illegal drugs and sales of a controlled substance.
