Every third Friday of the month, the Willamalane Adult Activity Center turns into one of the liveliest dance parties in Springfield. Six nights ago, more than 70 guests showed up for the second Dancin’ by the River party hosted by the park and recreation district.

Incidents FRIDAY, Feb. 1 Drunken driver: 10:48 p.m., 1400 block Main Street. A caller said a motorist was passed out in his car, which was blocking traffic. Other motorists were honking, and the caller attempted to direct traffic. Police arrested a man for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

 

Russell earns state hardware

Springfield senior Mercedes Russell collected another piece of hardware at the Oregon Sports Awards this past weekend.
