Two teens charged following string of car clouts in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Two 17-year-old Springfield males were arrested today after Springfield police received numerous calls from east Springfield residents reporting that their vehicles had been broken into last night. Numerous items were reported stolen, including at least one firearm.

 

Eugene police arrest suspected bank robber

Eugene police arrested a suspected bank robber shortly after the late-morning heist. The suspect was turned over to FBI officials to face potential federal charges. His name was not immediately released. The robbery was reported at 11:55 a.m. at a Pacific Continental Bank branch at 1450 High St., police said.

 

Woman dies after being hit by van in west Eugene

A woman died this morning at a local hospital, not long after she was struck by a van in the intersection of West 18th Avenue and Chambers Street. Police have not identified the woman or the driver of the 1979 Chevy van that hit her.

PORTLAND — A storm Thursday was expected to bring heavy rain to the southern coast of Oregon. Forecasters said higher elevations in Curry County could see 8 inches of rain, and Brookings along the coast could get 3 inches — raising the possibility of mudslides and debris flows.
