Man stabbed half a dozen times downtown

A 29-year-old man was stabbed about six times just before midnight Friday at the intersection of Broadway and Olive Street in downtown Eugene, police said. The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

 

Apartment fire briefly traps residents

A fourth-floor apartment fire just east of Autzen Stadium Friday night caused a scare for many residents, some of whom were trapped on their balconies for a bit, but resulted in no serious injuries.

 

House fire displaces family

A house fire off Crow Road west of Eugene Friday morning caused about $100,000 damage, Eugene Fire Department Battalion Chief Matt Ennis said. About a dozen fire engines and trucks responded to the 9:23 a.m. blaze at 87456 Dukhober Road, he said.
