Judge triples bond for Stamford shooting defendant

Police officer John Derisme said he saw Greene raise his right hand with a gun and take a shot at a crowd of people outside of Glamour Bar on West Park Place early Sunday morning, according to a report of his arrest.

Greene pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, illegal discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and reckless endangerment.

According to the police report, Derisme said he saw a large group come out of the Glamour Bar and walk toward West Main Street before continuing onto Clark Street.

Baby death in Stamford sparks investigation

STAMFORD — STAMFORD-Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the untimely death of a one-month old baby boy, police said.

Barcello said a crime scene investigator was sent to Farmington and was present at the baby’s autopsy. he declined to release the name of the baby.

 

Abducted girl recovered before mother arraigned in Stamford

STAMFORD-A half-day after police recovered a 10-year-old girl abducted and taken to New York City, the girl’s mother was arraigned on a felony charge of custodial interference at the Stamford courthouse Friday.

Police say that Cuevas abducted the child Wednesday afternoon after luring her out of a a bedroom window of the child’s grandmother, who had legal custody of the child.

Police said the grandmother suspected that Cuevas was behind the disappearance because she tried to remove the child from her school earlier in the day.

Abducted Stamford child still missing

The rush into the Bronx by police investigators got started after the child’s grandmother and legal guardian called police to report the child was missing from her room, Lt. Diedrich Hohn said. The grandmother told police her suspicions were stoked by a report from the girl’s elementary school that the mother tried to take her out of the facility sometime during the school day on Wednesday.

Hohn said that police are not asking the state for an Amber Alert on the child because they do not believe she is in danger of serious physical injury at this time.
