Abducted Girl Recovered Before Mother Arraigned In Stamford

STAMFORD-A half-day after police recovered a 10-year-old girl abducted and taken to New York City, the girl’s mother was arraigned on a felony charge of custodial interference at the Stamford courthouse Friday. Police say that Cuevas abducted the child Wednesday afternoon after luring her out of a a bedroom window of the child’s grandmother, who had legal custody of the child. Police said the grandmother suspected that Cuevas was behind the disappearance because she tried to remove the child from her school earlier in the day.
