Driver charged with assault and drunk driving in Stamford

STAMFORD-A city man was charged with assault with a motor vehicle after injuring a woman in a downtown crash while allegedly driving drunk, police say.

Rutkowski was charged with drunk driving, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, failure to grant the right of way at an intersection, no insurance and driving out of his motor vehicle class.

 

West Side robbery suspect faces charges in Stamford

At about 10 p.m. that evening a teenager was sitting on the porch talking on a cell phone when Harkness and and as yet unidentified accomplice appeared to be “patrolling” for a robbery victim, Guzda said.

Guzda said the entire robbery was caught on “great video,” which even showed Harkness’ accomplice strike the teen in the face with his pistol after the victim gave up a small amount of cash, his wallet and cell phone.

Rashawna Fields, 21, of Yonkers, was charged with attempted third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny and third-degree identity theft.

Joshua Cabreja, 22, of the Bronx, was charged with attempted third-degree larceny, attempted identity theft and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

 

Police investigating road rage gun threat

A motorist told police he was stopped for a red light on West Broad and Schuyler Street at about 8 p.m. when a man behind him in a work van started beeping his horn, telling the driver to move along even though he was stopped for a red light, Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said.

The first driver said the operator behind him then jumped out of the van and pulled a small handgun out of his pocket and held it next to the man’s face before running back to his vehicle and driving off.

 

Over confidence and jockey underwear lead to Stamford crack arrest

When police officers approached, they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle and upon closer inspection they could see trace amounts of the drug inside the car.

Police charged self-employed barber Ronaldo Torres, 32, of Bronx, N.Y., with third-degree identity theft and first-degree forgery.

According to a police report, Torres ordered at least $4,000 worth of merchandise and another fraudulent shipment was pending.

 

Three hurt after five-car crash in Stamford

Sgt. Robert Shawinsky said a preliminary investigation indicates the driver who caused the initial accident tried to evade the scene, causing two other cars to crash.

While trying to leave the area, the first driver caused another vehicle to swerve across the southbound lane, which caused a fifth car to roll over, Shawinsky said.

 

Woman charged with beating man with baseball bat in Stamford

The arrest stems from an incident on April 25, just before midnight when police were sent to a call for people fighting with baseball bats near the intersection of Taylor and Perry streets on the city’s West Side.

A police report shows that Pharr had a broken bone in his hand and a fracture to his right elbow that will have to be operated on.

Santiago was charged with second-degree assault, and disorderly conduct and was held in lieu of a $25,000 court appearance bond.
