Freight train derails in Ridley Park; SEPTA, Amtrak service shut down

A freight train derailed in Ridley Park around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night and it's causing traffic and commuter trouble this morning.No injuries were reported.According to reports, the back car of the Norfolk Southern train spilled its load of stones on the tracks between the Eddystone and Crum Lynne stations, about five miles north of Marcus Hook.

 

Police arrest teen in groping incidents on SEPTA bus line in Ardmore

HAVERFORD >> Haverford police say they have made an arrest of a suspect that was groping women along the SEPTA bus route in Ardmore over the past year and a half. According to a press release, police arrested a 17-year-old Haverford Township resident Wednesday afternoon in connection with the indecent assaults.

 

Providence Animal Center Pet of the Week: Macy

5-year-old female Mixed Breed Meet Macy, the tiny girl who is looking for a place she can fit in forever and be loved. She is tan and white, with big ears that stand up at attention. She was brought to Providence Animal Center in Media, formerly the Delco SPCA, after her owners could no longer care for her.

 

Providence Animal Center Pet of the Week: Ninja

12-year-old female Domestic Medium Hair Say hello to Ninja, but don't let the name fool you, she's as sweet as can be. She is looking for a place she can call forever and somewhere she is loved. Ninja was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and brought to Providence Animal Center in Media, formerly the Delco SPCA, where she is waiting for this love that everyone keeps telling her about.

 

AFL Pets of the Week: Kittens

Here is one of an adorable litter of three, Licorice, Twizzler, and Jelly Bean. They were born to a rather feral young mama who is actually coming around quite nicely, trusting her devoted caregiver more each day, even permitting pets while she's eating. Mama appeared one day in a local church basement with her babies, having made her way in through an open window and kindly welcomed by the church.

 

PLDP Pet of the Week: Maize

Maize is an adorable 1-year old Beagle mix. She has the characteristics of a Beagle but the markings of an Australian Cattle Dog. She is UTD on shots, spayed, chipped and ready for her furever home. Maize is very playful and likes the game of fetch. She will bring the ball back to you, plays with her toys and she sleeps thru the night.

 

Francisvale Pet of the Week: Colby

Colby boy is about as handsome as you can find them. A golden coat, luxurious whiskers, and a contemplative countenance embody the loving soul that is our Colby. This kitty, just a smidge over one, is a real party boy. He loves to socialize and plays like the kitten he is. Like a snuggler? Colby's your ticket to ride.
