New battle brews over Don Guanella site development

MARPLE >> It's shaping up to be another fight over what to do with more than 200 acres of land along Sproul and Reed roads that may be redeveloped, a portion including the former Don Guanella Village site.After a failed attempt by Goodman Properties in 2016 to get township approval to convert the 213-acre site into a mixed-use development with retail, residential, office and recreational spaces, another developer is making a shot to use of the land.

Man robbed of pizza in Pica's parking lot

Upper Darby>> Township police are looking for the man who robbed a senior citizen of his pizza in the parking lot of a popular restaurant late last week.Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said an 81-year-old man was injured and his pizza taken from him in the parking lot of Pica's Restaurant in the 7800 block of West Chester Pike during the early-morning hours of May 12.
