4-year-old female Mixed BreedSay hello to Queen Latifah, the friendly lady who is looking for a family who's willing to change her life. Queen Latifah is a big-bonded girl, with an even bigger heart. She was rescued from a southern overcrowded shelter and brought to Providence Animal Center in Media, formerly the Delco SPCA, where she now patiently waits for someone out there who has a big enough heart and room in their life for a sweetheart like her.

 

Providence Animal Center Pet of the Week: Snickers

7-year-old male Domestic Shorthair Say hello to Snickers, the homeless boy looking to make someone's life so much better. He has a black and white coat, with a sweet inside, just like the candy bar he is named after. He was rescued by a Good Samaritan and brought to Providence Animal Center in Media, formerly the Delco SPCA, where he is waiting for a loving home.

 

PLDP Pet of the Week: Dolly

This adorable pup is Dolly. Dolly is 5.5 pounds and a spunky 10 YO. Car rides, walks, snuggles - she's ready for it all! She's one of the sweetest chi's we've ever met and can live with children, cats and male dogs - but other female dogs is where she likes to act a little too bossy. Dolly is spayed, UTD, chipped and just had her teeth cleaned.

At 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Patricia Guy of Ridley Park will be in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, ready and eager to participate in an annual event that's deeply meaningful to her.The Sandy Sprint is a 5k or 10k run/walk to raise funds for ovarian cancer research. It's the deadliest of all gynecological cancers, with a 5-year survival rate of only 50 percent.

Calf at former Ardrossan farm in Radnor diagnosed with rabies

RADNOR >> A calf at the farm at Ardrossan died after contracting rabies, police said.The calf was one of a herd of Ayrshire cattle that still live on what was the Ardrossan estate. Most of the 311-acre Ardrossan estate is being sold for high-end houses, although Radnor Township acquired 71 acres in 2013 for open space, paying $11.
