Mosley, who has worked for Chatham County Superior Court Judge John E. Morse Jr. for 13 years, will qualify as a Democrat for her run.

 

Savannah man indicted for murder in December slaying

A Savannah man on Wednesday was indicted on murder charges in the December slaying of Michael Holmes.
Gregory Adrin Rhynes caused Holmes’ death on Dec. 9 by shooting him with a firearm, the Chatham County grand jury said in returning a malice-murder count.

Nearly one-third of Effingham voters cast ballots in presidential primary

Thirty-one percent of registered voters in Effingham County cast ballots in Tuesday’s presidential preference primary, with heavy Republican turnout.
Unofficial returns show that 9,278 votes were cast for Republicans, compared with 1,827 cast for Democrats, or 84 percent Republican to 16 percent Democrat.
In the Republican primary, Donald Trump won 39 percent of the vote, with Ted Cruz coming in second, with 33 percent. Third place and the only other candidate in double digits was Marco Rubio with 16 percent.
