STAMFORD — When a woman came to Stamford police in October with a complaint that she had been sexually assaulted by her therapist four years earlier, investigators did something right out of a television script. They outfitted the woman with a hidden electronic listening device and sent her to her therapist’s office on West Main Street. There she confronted Alexander Pino, 47, about what he allegedly did to her and worked to get him to incriminate himself, according to an arrest affidavit obtained this week.

STAMFORD-Disgraced Stamford attorney Morris Glucksman who ended his 40 year practice in disgrace this year narrowly avoided a prison sentence after returning nearly a quarter-million dollars that he stole from his clients.

Standing in a first-floor courtroom at the Stamford courthouse Monday afternoon, Glucksman, 70, apologized profusely to Judge Gary White, his family and for his actions that led to his being arrested on two different occasions by Stamford police on felony first-degree larceny charges for stealing $230,000 from the estates of two clients.

STAMFORD — A city man was held in jail over the weekend and faces charges that he beat his wife.

Sgt. Sean McGowan said police officers were called to a West Side home Friday night by a neighbor who heard screaming.

After arriving with lights and sirens, police got to the residence and heard yelling and screaming outside the door. Upon entering, police found a woman crying and holding the left side of her head and left ear.

With the help of a Polish-speaking interpreter, the woman said her husband Bartlomeij Molski, 34, had gone to the grocery store and returned drunk, police said.

STAMFORD — A new pedestrian-activated light at Selleck and Durant streets is supposed to make it safer to cross the busy intersection on foot.

Mayor David Martin, Transportation Bureau Chief Jim Travers and City Rep. Virgil de la Cruz tested the city’s fourth rectangular rapid flashing beacon (called an RRFB) last week in Waterside.

STAMFORD — A city man charged for allegedly allowing a juvenile girl to help him sell narcotics to an undercover officer on two occasions is facing additional charges after a search of his Springdale home turned up six grams of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun, police said.

Bismal Almanzar, 19, of Hope Street, was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, possession of a gun without a permit, three counts of sales of narcotics, possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. He is being held in lieu of a $150,000 cash court appearance bond.

STAMFORD-During an emotional at the Stamford courthouse Monday morning James Cunningham was sentenced to 25 years in prison for murdering Marian Alexander in her Norwalk home last year.

Dressed in a bright orange short sleeved jumpsuit, Cunningham, 44, did not say a word or change expression during the 20-minute hearing before judge Gary White.

Even when Alexander’s family begged him to tell them why he killed the 52-year-old cosmetologist, Cunningham did not look their way or say a word before judicial marshals led him out of the courtroom for the last time.

STAMFORD-Three Bridgeport burglars who lost the keys to their getaway car in what was first reported to be an exceedingly rare home invasion burglary in Weston last year, were given stiff jail sentences last week at the Stamford courthouse.

The defendants, Leequaje Jackson, 21, of Bridgeport, Francis Tarik, 18, of Bridgeport and 17-year-old Cameron King, all of Bridgeport, were sentenced Friday to four years in jail after state prosecutors allowed the their home invasion charges to be reduced to first-degree burglary and larceny charges, taking off the table a 10-year mandatory minimum jail

STAMFORD — Crews battled a building fire on Grenhart Road Saturday evening.

The fire, which started around 9 p.m. Saturday, took about two hours for crews to get under control, according to the Stamford Fire Department’s Twitter. The fire was at 33 Grenhart Road.

Fire officials have not released additional information.

STAMFORD-Two weeks after charging therapist Alexander Pino with the sexual assault of one of his patients, Stamford police have charged him a second time as they investigate a third allegation against him.

Pino, 47, of Stamford was picked up Friday morning and charged with second-degree sexual assault. He is being arraigned on the charge at the Stamford courthouse and is being held in lieu of a $200,000 court appearance bond.

STAMFORD — A Bridgeport man was arrested while allegedly making a delivery of 30 bags of heroin to Stamford’s South End on Wednesday.

Following a pattern that police have been noticing for a little over a month, the more than two dozen bags of heroin were unstamped.

Capt. Richard Conklin said officers in the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad were told that a man in a green Volvo would be making a delivery of heroin to a Henry Street apartment building Wednesday morning.
