Concrete repair work is progressing along westbound I-696 in Oakland County. As part of a $12 million, four-segment, resurfacing project along the highway, which is scheduled for completion in November, westbound lanes between Dequindre and Telegraph were closed June 1-3.

 

Judge: Troy can have personal info on medical marijuana patients

An Oakland Circuit judge has again denied an emergency motion to stop the City of Troy from enforcing new rules regarding medical marijuana, including a requirement for medical marijuana caregivers to divulge personal information on patients.Attorney Jason Canvasser, representing Iraq War veteran Justin Nichols who uses medical cannabis for pain relief, had asked Judge Leo Bowman for a restraining order or to prohibit enforcement of Troy's new ordinance which stipulates that those who provide medical marijuana must identify patients by name for city records.

Woman dies in vehicle crash along M-59

A 63-year-old Waterford Township woman died Tuesday afternoon, crashing her vehicle along M-59 in Rochester Hills.According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the woman was driving a 2015 Ford Fusion westbound on M-59 near Adams Road when she left the roadway, hit a traffic sign and ended up in a ditch at around 3:45 p.
