Two vehicles found burning early Tuesday morning in Pontiac were intentionally set on fire, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.Deputies and firefighters were called to the 10 block of Ellwood Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. on a report of a vehicle fire, to find the two cars burning.

 

Shoes stolen at gunpoint in Pontiac, suspect nabbed by West Bloomfield cop

A suspect in an armed robbery in Pontiac was arrested Tuesday after a West Bloomfield police officer spotted him driving in that township and pulled him over shortly before 6 p.m.Assistant Police Chief Curt Lawson said the officer, relatively new to the force, was responding to a "be on the lookout" alert issued by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, which included a description of the suspect's vehicle and license plate.

Allen Road closure planned in Independence Township for gas service installation work

The Road Commission for Oakland County has issued a permit to Consumers Energy to close Allen Road between Cranberry Lake Road and Hubbard Road in Independence Township for gas service installation work.The closure will take place on Saturday, June 2. The detour for through traffic is Cranberry Lake Road to M-15 to Hubbard, back to Allen Road and vice versa.

An Oakland County man and his estate sales business have been charged with stealing more than $60,000, Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced Tuesday.Ronald Robling and his business, R&S Resale LLC, face 13 counts of embezzlement by an agent or trustee and one count of conducting a criminal enterprise.
