Charges filed in heroin death

Relatives told police that Young had been struggling with heroin addiction and had been in and out of rehab in recent years, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

Prescription drugs seized in Danbury arrest

DANBURY - Two men who police said were dealing prescription drugs out of a downtown area apartment were arrested Thursday.

According to a statement released by police, Jeremy “Popp” Colon, of Chestnut Street in Bethel, and Robert Frey, who lives in an apartment on Harding Place near West Street, are facing numerous drug charges including the sale of narcotics after investigators discovered them with of Xanax and Oxycodone pills.

 

New Milford remembers longtime fire chief Harry Tayor

NEW MILFORD — Fellow firefighters remembered former chief, local businessman and veteran Harry H. Taylor Jr. as hardworking and a good friend.

Danbury man dies in motorcycle crash

Police said the accident occurred around 11:13 p.m. Sunday when Ariel Suero, 23, was driving a Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle “at a high rate of speed” heading north on Clapboard Ridge Road.

After the collision, police said Suero’s motorcycle continued down the road where it crashed into a 2001 Jeep Wrangler driven by Scott Decker, 29, of New Milford, who was also traveling south.

 

Bridgeport man, dog shot before girlfriend taken

BRIDGEPORT - A man and his dog was shot shortly before his girlfriend was taken by the suspects during an early morning shooting on Federal Street Monday.

Police said the man was shot in the arm and was recovering from his injuries but his girlfriend, who has not been identified, was taken by by several suspects in the victim’s car.

 

New Milford changes downtown parking restrictions

In a press release, Mayor David Gronbach said he consistently heard complaints that the three-hour limit didn’t allow for a dinner and movie downtown.

New Fairfield man charged with murder and sexual assault

Steven Flood, 32, was charged Friday with felony murder, aggravated sexual assault and other charges in connection with the death of Susan Guido, who was found dead May 2 in the home she rented on Candlewood Drive.

The charges issued Friday include felony murder, aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault in a spousal or cohabiting relationship, murder committed in the course of sexual assault, third-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree larceny.

Man found guilty of manslaughter in Danbury shooting

Defense attorney Michael Courtney argued during the lengthy and often delayed trial that his client was acting in self-defense when he shot Jeiel Kingston outside of a White Street night club on May, 4, 2014.

Despite authorities saying that they didn’t find a weapon on Kinsgston, Sanderson claimed he saw the victim reaching for “an inch of silver” inside his waistband when he fired three shots at Sanderson before dumping the gun in some nearby bushes.

Four teenagers injured in New Milford Jeep rollover

NEW MILFORD — Police have confirmed that four teenagers were taken to Danbury Hospital after a Jeep Wrangler they were riding in rolled over on Rooster Trial Hollow Road.

Police said the accident occurred after 7 p.m. on Wednesday and that only the 2000 Jeep Wrangler was involved in the crash.

While all four occupants were taken to the hospital, the extent of their injuries was not immediately available Thursday morning.
