Man Found Guilty Of Manslaughter In Danbury Shooting

Defense attorney Michael Courtney argued during the lengthy and often delayed trial that his client was acting in self-defense when he shot Jeiel Kingston outside of a White Street night club on May, 4, 2014. Despite authorities saying that they didn’t find a weapon on Kinsgston, Sanderson claimed he saw the victim reaching for “an inch of silver” inside his waistband when he fired three shots at Sanderson before dumping the gun in some nearby bushes. Prosecutors felt they had a strong case against Sanderson with four eyewitnesses to the shooting as well as ballistics and DNA evidence that connected the defendant to the gun.
