U.S. reps from around Philadelphia region decry foul language against immigrants

Local congressmen decried statements attributed to President Donald Trump in which he was reported as using disparaging language to describe nations in Africa and other nations.In a meeting to discuss the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, the president reportedly asked why the United States would accept more immigrants from Haiti and countries in Africa, which he allegedly described as "s---hole" countries.

 

Transformer blast rocks street in Morton

MORTON >> An underground transformer blew on the first block of South Morton Avenue early Friday afternoon, sending a manhole cover a couple of feet in the air and black smoke billowing into the sky.Morton-Rutledge Fire Co. Chief Chris Reiff said the call came in at 1:14 p.m. after rain apparently got to the transformer through the manhole, causing it to fail.
