'Citizen's risk assessment' of Mariner East Pipeline project moves forward

WEST CHESTER >> State Sen. Andy Dinniman, D-19 of West Whiteland, announced Friday that a coalition of Chester and Delaware county community leaders is officially moving forward with an independent risk assessment of the Mariner East Pipeline project.The pipeline weaves through high-density areas in both Chester and Delaware counties.

 

Man convicted in repeated sex assault of girl, 10

MEDIA COURTHOUSE >> A 43-year-old Nigerian native was convicted last week on sexual abuse charges for repeatedly assaulting a 10-year-old Chester girl in 2017."There is no act more horrific and appalling than the sexual abuse of an innocent child," said District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland in a release announcing the verdict.

Mariner East 2 pipeline may take alternate route

WEST WHITELAND >> After falling more than 18 months behind schedule, Sunoco has decided to use a portion of an existing 12-inch pipeline to connect and bypass yet-to-be-completed portions of the 350-mile Mariner East 2 pipeline.Sunoco plans to use a portion of the 12-inch line only in Chester and Delaware counties, from Wallace Township in Chester County to Middletown Township in Delaware County.

Radnor Police Reports: 16-year-old girl harassed at restaurant by man in his 60s

HARASSMENT>> A 16-year-old employee at Roast and Chop on East Lancaster Avenue in St. Davids reported being harassed by a customer described as a man in his 60s June 20. According to the report made by the female employee, the unknown man began asking her about her relationship status and if she were married.

 

Newly renovated Radnor Memorial Library returns to service

RADNOR >> Library aficionados were all smiles Monday morning when the newly renovated Radnor Memorial Library opened its doors. The $7.1 million project added 5,100-square-foot in space and was funded though $2.5 million from the library's fundraising and endowment, $500,000 in state funds and the remainder from Radnor Township, including a bond and reallocation of other funds, said Helen McGrane, library board president.
