Editorial: Republicans could end up betting on wrong horse

Last week wasn’t the first time Josh Mandel has been in West Central Ohio seeking campaign donations from wealthy Republicans. It was, however, the first time he arrived with a heavyweight such as U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz at his side.
Clearly, the national Republican Party has hung a target on the back of Sherrod Brown, the state’s longtime U.S. senator and ultra-liberal Democrat.

CINCINNATI — Rookie Patrick Mahomes threw a pair of touchdown passes, solidifying his spot as the Chiefs’ primary backup, and three Kansas City quarterbacks threw for a score on Saturday night during a 30-12 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Kansas City (1-1) got a lot to like out of its offense overall and its top pick in particular.

Letter: Attack of GOP lacks substance

I read with interest Larry Donaldson’s crie d’ coeur regarding the awfulness of Republicans in general and Donald Trump in particular. If Larry’s views are a bit outside the political mainstream, it must be understood that as a union official at the Lima Tank Plant, he spent years marinating in the intellectual sludge spewed out by the UAW International.

CEOs to Trump: You’re Bad for Business

It’s not often — actually, it’s never happened before — that a Republican president gets dissed and dumped by corporate titans like Dow, Merck, Campbell Soup, the Blackstone Group, 3M, Intel, Ernst & Young, JP Morgan Chase, Johnson & Johnson, General Motors, PepsiCo, and IBM.

Michael Homans: Legal lessons from the Taylor Swift groping case

Many were not surprised by the prompt verdict Monday in the sexual-assault case in Denver involving Taylor Swift. A jury of six women and two men concluded within hours that a Denver radio host had groped Swift — grabbed her butt beneath her skirt during a photo shoot, as his wife stood on the other side of Swift.
