$13,000 worth of meth seized in Painesville

The Ohio Highway Patrol seized nearly $13,000 of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Painesville. According to OHP, on July 17, troopers stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Venture for a left-of-center violation on Chestnut Street. When troopers approached the car, they saw drug paraphernalia in plain view.

 

Middle Ridge Road in Perry Township closing for tree cutting

The Lake County Engineer's Office announced that, weather permitting, Painesville City Power will be closing Middle Ridge Road between Route 20 (North Ridge Road) and Center Road in Perry Township to through traffic on July 21.

 

Concord Township bridge lanes closing for repairs

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that the state Route 44 bridge over Kellogg Creek in Concord Township will be one lane in each direction through August as crews make repairs. The bridge is located between state Route 84 and Interstate 90.

 

East Walnut Avenue in Painesville closing for railroad work

Norfolk Southern Railroad has notified the City of Painesville that East Walnut Avenue will be closed from Valley View Drive to Wintergreen Hill Drive from 6 a.m. July 23 through noon July 30. The road closure is due to the setting of steel beams on the railroad trestle over East Walnut Avenue.

 

Renovated Rich Lanes in Fairport Harbor ready to roll

Although Rich Lanes carries a long history, it's not stopping the Fairport Harbor business from rolling toward the future.The bowling alley built in 1955 by Tony Rich, a lifelong Fairport resident, started out as Fairport Dine and Wine, an eatery on High Street constructed in the 1930s.

 

Eastlake skate park could be under construction by fall

Eastlake officials are thinking positive in terms of a new skate park in the city. Mayor Dennis Morley, and council members John Meyers and Dave Spotton along with Deanna Elsing, the administrator of the Northern Career Institute of Willoughby-Eastlake Schools attended the CDBG-Home Federal Grants Program public hearing held by the Lake County Commissioners, July 19.

 

Drugs, guns seized in Faiport Harbor bust

A Fairport Harbor man was arrested on drug charges after a six-month investigation into drug activity at a King Street residence. Law enforcement officers from the Lake County Narcotics Agency, Fairport Harbor Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant July 20 at 436 King St.

 

The Indian Museum to host silversmith, bead-worker

The Indian Museum, 7519 Mentor Ave., Mentor Suite A112, will host a special program at 2 p.m., Aug. 4, by Lenora and Earl Dingus from Pittsburgh.Earl is a well-known Cherokee silversmith and flute player and will be doing both at the program, according to a news release. He uses nature as an inspiration for his music.
