Railroad Memorabilia Show coming to Painesville

The third annual Railroad Memorabilia Show is coming Aug. 26 to the Painesville Railroad Museum, 475 Railroad St.Taking place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the memorabilia show is designed to have collectors show off their private collections of railroad-related items. These could be from railroad signals, plate setting ware that was used in the dining cars, railroad lanterns, paper work from different railroads, conductor hats, engineer hats, etc.

 

Middle Ridge Road in Madison Village closing

Weather permitting, the Lake County Engineer's Office will be closing Middle Ridge Road in Madison Village between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning July 30. Work will be complete by the end of the workday Aug. 2. The 100-foot section of road will be closed approximately 500 feet east of Burns Road and 0.

 

Eastlake man accused of bringing drugs into jail

A 40-year-old Eastlake man was arraigned July 26 in Painesville Municipal Court following an allegation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office that he tried to smuggle an unspecified drug of abuse into jail, court records show.Marko Medukic, whose address appears in court documents as 1263 E. 340 St.

Man accused of killing Willoughby resident has case bound to grand jury

The man accused of killing a Willoughby man in his home earlier this month waived his right to a preliminary hearing July 26 in Willoughby Municipal Court. Herbert Beard Jr., 23, will now have his case bound over to the Lake County grand jury.

Rice Detention Basin Project in Mentor awarded OPWC funding, soon to begin

The city of Mentor will get financial aid for the second of two major drainage improvement projects in Ward 3.The Ohio Public Works Commission recently approved funding for the Rice Detention Basin Project. The commission backed a grant for $100,000 and a loan for $150,000.
