Perry High School band's shaving cream showdown has folks seeing white, having a blast

For the third year in a row, the Perry High School Marching Band just got creamed - with shaving cream, that is.On July 27, the grass in the middle of the bus loop there played host to what's fast becoming a beloved tradition for the kids who go to band camp.

Laketran partners with Lakeland Community College for Campus Loop service

Laketran and Lakeland Community College have collaborated for decades to create transportation solutions for the college campus and the community. The long-standing partnership includes a student transit benefit program that provides students enrolled in credit classes free transit access on Laketran's Local Routes and dedicated campus parking space at the state Route 306 entrance that operates Laketran's Park-n-Ride service for Cleveland commuters.

 

100 youth experience pioneer life in Historic Kirtland

More than 100 young members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints figuratively stepped back into time this week to participate in a variety of pioneer-life events collectively dubbed "The Kirtland Experience."The experience, paying homage to the early saints who lived and worked in Kirtland, "the tiny Western Reserve village," offered the youth opportunities to engage in physical and fun activities from hauling handcarts and camping - representing the trek west to Utah - to canoeing and making taffy.

Kids and adults alike enjoyed seeing, touching, and learning about a variety of interesting animals at Outback Ray's Amazing Animal show at Morley Library on July 9.The 2018 Collaborative Summer Library Program has a theme with the slogan "Libraries Rock!" This is the second year the CSLP delegates have chosen one slogan across children's/early literacy, teen, and adult programs, which is something many librarians have requested according to the State Library of Ohio website.

United Way of Lake County's Women's Leadership Council on Aug. 23 will host an evening social featuring Professional Stylist and Certified Image Consultant Pat Gibson.Gibson, who is also the founder and president of The Artistry of You, will lead an interactive presentation focusing on five ways a woman can enhance her assets, camouflage her figure challenges, improve her "wow factor" and create a unique personal brand, according to a news release.
