Dillard moved out of ICU

Dan Dillard, 60, a Bend pastor who was injured last month in a motorcycle accident, is in fair condition, has been moved out of the intensive care unit and is on a floor to receive orthopedic and neurological care at St. Charles Bend, according to a hospital spokesperson.Dillard was injured in a motorcycle accident Aug. 31 on Bear Creek Road in Bend.

BVC concept finalists picked

Five companies, some with little more than an idea, have been selected to compete for $10,000 cash next month during the Concept Stage of the 10th annual Bend Venture Conference, organizers announced Friday.Audience members, comprised of investors, entrepreneurs, educators and others, selected the finalists Thursday evening at McMenamins Old St. Francis School in Bend, according to a news release from Economic Development for Central Oregon.

2013 Bend Roots Revival is On; Video: From clutter to concert venue

The 2013 Bend Roots Revival kicked off Friday night at its new home, Pakit Liquidators, the large home-improvement supply resale yard on Bend's east side.With more than 80 bands -- mostly local -- playing on six stages over three days, the free festival returns this year after a last-minute cancellation in 2012 at its previous venue, the Century Center.
