Neighbors more outraged than suprised by fatal shooting in north Champaign

 
Authorities say Scott M. E. Roth, 21, of Champaign was shot and killed early Sunday morning, the second homicide of 2019 in Champaign.

CHAMPAIGN — Floyd Thomas Jr. was stunned to wake up to the news Sunday morning that a man was murdered on his block of Edgebrook Drive hours earlier.

A 21-year-old Champaign man was shot and killed early Sunday in north Champaign. Police are investigating to see if there's a link to a shooting 22 hours earlier in another part of town that wounded one man.
 

CHAMPAIGN - A 21-year-old Champaign man was shot and killed early Sunday in north Champaign, the second homicide of 2019 in that city.

 

Southbound I-57 closed at Monticello Road due to crash

All southbound traffic is being diverted to Monticello Road.

TOLONO — Southbound traffic is being diverted on Interstate 57 as a result of a motor vehicle crash.
Master Sergeant William Kroncke of the Illinois State Police said a crash took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate 57 at mile marker 226, west of Tolono at about noon Sunday.
