NBC picks up Ryan Murphy's 'New Normal' and JJ Abrams' 'Revolution'

NBC has ordered the J.J. Abrams' drama "Revolution" and the Ryan Murphy comedy "The New Normal" for its fall lineup, the network confirmed. "Revolution," produced by Abrams and written by "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, has been described as an action drama about people attempting to survive in a world where all forms of energy have suddenly ceased to exist. The pilot was directed by Jon Favreau and stars Billy Burke (from the "Twilight" films), Giancarlo Esposito, David Lyons, Tracy Spiradakos, Graham Rogers and Tim Guinee.

 

George Lindsey, known as TV's Goober Pyle, dies

George Lindsey, who spent nearly 30 years as the grinning Goober on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "Hee Haw," has died. He was 83.
