What a win. It was a wild one, especially in the first half. We [Sacramento Kings] were down by 17 in the first quarter. In frustration, I was about to turn off the TV, but the teaml called a timeout. I wanted to see if they would respond. They did, going on a 17-0 run to tie the score and eventually was up by two at halftime. Crazy. Crazy Kings.
Senh: His numbers (10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks) aren't very impressive, especially coming from the Developmental League. He seems to be a decent shot-blocker. At 7-foot-5 and 360 pounds, I'm not sure how he fits into George Karl's running game. Still, I'm curious.
Senh: That's too bad. The Houston Rockets will miss his toughness and defense. Beverley, Trevor Ariza, and Dwight Howard are a tough trio to score on.
Senh: I remember him. He was the number one draft pick. He had a promising future that ended with one freak accident. The Bulls organization were supportive and generous with him. I remember reading that they would pay him half a million a year for the rest of his life. That's more than what doctors and lawyers make. Still, if basketball was your life, and you can no longer do what you love, it's hard.
Senh: I can't help, but watch this. Like the author said, the energy is there (except for Pat Riley), and it's for charity. Plus, you get to see them in a different light.
Senh: The triangle offense takes another hit. Derek Fisher couldn't get it to work for the New York Knicks. Brian Shaw, with a season and a half under his belt, fared just as poorly. One could make the case that New York didn't have the talent, outside of Carmelo Anthony, to make it work, but Shaw did. The Nuggets, under former coach George Karl, won 57 games before Shaw took over. The players were the same before the recent trades. So far, it seems, only Phil Jackson can make the triangle offense work.
Senh: In other words, it's officially time to call it quits and tank the season for a good lottery pick. There's really no season for him to continue to play. Ditto for Kobe Bryant. Just let their bodies heal, get a good pick, and start over next season.
