Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have been the subject of major media scrutiny in their day. Finally, the two new additions to X Factor 's panel are the ones doing the judging. Pop princess Spears, 30, and former Disney star Lovato, 20, replaced last season's Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. On Wednesday, they joined music producer L.A. Reid and X Factor executive producer Simon Cowell at the judges' table for their first taped audition show. (Live comes later.)

In case you were wondering why NBC decided to add a third night of “The Voice” season debut this week on Wednesday in the teeth of Fox’s re-boot of “X Factor”: Part 1 of “The Voice’s” now three-night fall season launch attracted 12.3 million viewers from 8-10 p.m. beating, among other programs, the season finales of Fox’s popular “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef.”

The “Katie” unveiling tied “Dr. Phil’s” premiere back in September of 2002 and --  because we know you’re going to ask – there have been 25 daytime talk show debuts since the unveiling of “Dr. Phil.”
