Election Night eats at home: A guide

Even with the nail-biter of a TV-watching evening that this Election Night is shaping up to be, one thing is certain: You’ve got to eat something — at least to keep up your strength for flipping from Wolf Blitzer to Judy Woodruff to Chris Matthews, and, of course, to all that The Washington Post will offer online.

Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne says she had a double mastectomy after learning she carries a gene that increases the risk of developing breast cancer. "The Talk" co-host told Hello! magazine that "I didn't want to live the rest of my life with that shadow hanging over me." The 60-year-old "America's Got Talent" judge, who had colon cancer a decade ago, said that without the surgery, "the odds are not in my favor."

Ratings: Reba McEntire's 'Malibu County' Achieves Early Success

ABC rolled out its new comedy block Friday night, but it was the Sharks that made the biggest splash. Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing (7.8 million, 1.9 adult demo rating) returned to its new time period, obviously down quite a bit from its Tuesday series debut last year, but still pulling a solid number for this slot. Sabrina Bryan

The all-stars kicked up their heels with country-themed routines this week on "Dancing With the Stars," but for one hopeful it was time to giddyap out of the ballroom on Tuesday night. And it wasn't the celebrity at the bottom of the leaderboard (Kelly Monaco) after Monday's performances who had to go. It wasn't even the second lowest scorer (Emmitt Smith).

Letterman and Fallon perform to empty studios

Jimmy Fallon

If David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon crack wise and no one's around to laugh, are they still funny? It turns out ... yes, very! With a massive storm approaching and New Yorkers being either evacuated or encouraged to stay in their homes, the "Late Show" and "Late Night" taped Monday afternoon without audiences. (Maybe Letterman and Fallon should have tweeted their monologues, however -- thousands of East Coasters had lost power by the time the shows aired and local newscasts were providing constant storm coverage.)
